FAQs
What age group are the story cards suitable for?
Our story cards are designed for children aged 4 to 12 years old. We know that’s a wide age range — and that’s exactly the point!
Every child brings their own imagination, personality, and creativity to the story. A 4-year-old might use the cards to spark a simple bedtime tale with help from a grown-up, while a 10-year-old might spin a multi-part magical quest on their own.
The cards don’t tell the story — your child does. That means they’re as simple or as complex as your child wants them to be. It’s storytelling that grows with your child.
Whether they’re just beginning to build confidence with words or are already crafting wild adventures, Fudge & Gandol cards meet them where they are.
What is included in a Fudge & Gandol story card set?
Each set includes 44 beautifully illustrated story cards featuring characters, locations, props, and magical story sparks. It’s everything you need to start crafting your own adventures in Myrndale.
How do I use the cards?
It’s simple — and totally magical!
1. Begin Your Story
Draw an Imagination Spark card — each one is a doorway to adventure. Or skip the spark and dream up your own tale using the cards and your creativity.
2. Pick Your Characters
Choose 2 to 4 characters to guide your journey. Mix heroes like Whispero, Misneach, or Éabha — some Spark cards may suggest characters, but you can always create your own team.
3. Choose a Setting and Enchanted Element
Pick one or two locations (like the Cliffs of Erin or Unicorn’s Glade), then choose an enchanted prop — a glowing wand, a bolt of lightning, or even a magical harp.
4. Add a Plot Twist!
Every great story has a beginning, middle, and end.
Start with a challenge or mystery, build toward a magical moment, and finish with a clever or heartwarming ending. Let the characters guide the plot — or invent a twist of your own!
5. Let Your Imagination Run Wild
There are no rules — just possibilities.
Use the cards to inspire storytelling at bedtime, in the classroom, or on rainy days. Every combination creates a new adventure!
Can parents help shape the stories?
Yes — and we encourage it!
Fudge & Gandol story cards are designed for children to explore independently or with the gentle support of an adult. Parents, carers, and teachers can help shape the story by asking questions, offering prompts, or even playing along as a character.
To support storytelling even further, each Imagination Spark card includes ideas and inspiration to kickstart your adventure.
What if my child needs more guidance?
To help bring stories to life, Fudge & Gandol is developing an AI-powered audible story app, where children can:
- Select their own character, plot, tone, and duration.
- Add themselves into the story.
- Hear their adventure brought to life with narration and sound.
This isn't about AI doing the storytelling for your child — it’s about showing them what’s possible. By listening to how a story can unfold from their choices, children begin to see patterns, feel emotion, and unlock their own storytelling potential.
The result?
✨ A dramatic boost in imagination, literacy, and creative confidence.
We’re not replacing their ideas — we’re helping them believe in them.
